Chapter 1
For Always
   


   It was less than year ago Jack and Sally shared their first kiss, and they have been together ever since, but Dr. Finklestien kept Sally back at the lab. Sally was allowed to see Jack though. Now it was Halloween night, and Sally was heading to the town hall to go to the party that the town was having, wearing a patched up black dress. She walked down the stone paved streets then looked up at the sky and saw the beautiful full moon. Sally smiled then hurried to the town hall. The doors to the town hall were wide open, and inside Sally could see all the townspeople dancing to the music. As nervous as she was, Sally walked inside. She knew all the people at the party, but she just couldn’t find Jack. Over the crowd of people, Sally noticed Jack at the far end of the building.
   "Jack!" she called out, waving her arms in the air.
Jack looked around, to see who was calling him. He noticed Sally's arms flailing to get his attention. Jack pushed his way through the crowd, until he got to his love. He held her hands in his as they kissed.
   "Hello my sweet." Sally said.
   "Hello my dear." Jack replied
They kissed one more. The band started playing a slow song. Jack took Sally's hand and walked her to the center of the room, then put his hands on her waist, and Sally put her hands on his shoulders. Everyone made room for them to dance. As the two danced everyone watched. Sally felt like she was in a fariy tale, like Cinderella dancing with Prince Charming. Suddenly the clock chimed, and the music stopped. Jack had to leave.
    "Sally," Jack said taking Sally's hand "come with me."
He brought her up on the stage. Sally felt a little embarrassed.
     "Can I have everyone's attention?" he asked to the crowd.
The crowd turned their attention toward Jack.
     "Before I leave I would like to thank the Mayor for making this party happen,"
The crowd applauded. Jack continued.
     "But, I must ask a very very important question to this beautiful person here." he said gesturing toward Sally.
He got down on one knee then pulled out a little grey velvet box from his coat pocket. The crowd gasped, and so did Sally. Jack opened the box and asked the words every girl wants to hear.
    "Will you marry me?"
The crowd fell silent, looking back and forward between Jack and Sally. Sally shook her head sadly. Jack was so heartbroken and felt like a total fool. Sally looked down to Jack and smiled.
   "I'm only kidding! Of course I will!" she said happily.
She fell into Jack's arms. Jack held her tightly.
   "Don't ever do that again." Jack said with a smile on his face.
Sally giggled.
   "Can't you take a joke, hon'?"
Jack didn't say anything, he just held Sally tighter.
   "Uh Jack?" The Mayor said walking up to Jack and Sally "you're going to be very late. G-give Sally the ring so we can get on with the night."
The Mayor didn't seem very happy, but inside he was extremely happy. Jack let go of Sally. Sally held out her hand for Jack to slip the ring on her finger. After Jack slipped it on the townspeople cheered loudly, and the Mayor clapped spastically with the biggest smile on his face. Jack helped Sally up and kissed her.
   "I love you." he said
   "I love you too." Sally replied.
